Even after 24 years of successive showcases, Lakmé Fashion Week stands as India’s most awaited and prestigious fashion event. It’s the biggest exhibition of diverse trends and collections from different brands. The latest trends, styles, and up-and-coming designers are displayed in this biannual fashion display, which is put on by Reliance and Lakme, a well-known Indian cosmetics brand.

It gives many designers a stage on which to present their latest collections; there is room for both designers in the making and well-known brands. The majority of the collections are in keeping with the rich culture and heritage of India, which makes the pieces more relatable and allows people to picture themselves in them.

Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) 2023 as expected stood as the epitome of elegance and beauty with each and every collection that was exhibited. Numerous elegant and well-known designers, including Amit Aggarwal, Falguni Shane Peacock, Kaki, Shiva, and Naresh, were present. A day was set aside to promote sustainable fashion, which demonstrated a strong dedication to environmentally responsible behaviour. This highlighted the importance of making ethical and sustainable fashion choices. Designers and brands came together to emphasize the significance of ethical production practices, eco-friendly materials, and responsible fashion.

The one collection from LFW’23 that really spoke to me was Faabiiana. I had the honor of closely seeing their sophisticated and stylish creations while I was an intern. It was a very unique event because to the brand’s elegance and craftsmanship, which made a permanent impression on my heart. The love tale that served as the inspiration for the collection QURBAT was really portrayed through the color theory used to create the clothing.

QURBAT by Faabiiana : The Timeless beauty of the rose

Faabiiana’s collection was inspired by the classic themes of romance, love, and roses. The collection was a poetic and entrancing ensemble, embodying the beauty and passion associated with these elements and delicate rose-inspired motifs and designs that showcased with the profound emotions felt in the journey of love.

Colour scheme of this collection delves into the seductive charm of romance. Gentle pastels, from soft oranges and yellows to beige and ivory, lead to the serenity of ice blue, which is followed by pink and green in a delicate embrace. These colours inspire feelings of classic beauty and love.

It featured an array of versatile silhouettes that were appropriate for every occasion, celebrating diversity in design. Elegant suits and stylish modern gowns contrasted with graceful lehengas and classic sarees. The fusion of traditional and contemporary designs invited wearers to explore a wide range of eye-catching looks.

The perfectly hand-embroidered motifs and embellishments demonstrated Faabiiana’s dedication to artisanal craftsmanship. The pieces were embellished with threadwork, zari, zardozi, sequin, and mirror work, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to maintaining traditional Indian artistry. Some clothes took two to three months to embroider.

Parineeti Chopra looked stunning in an ivory-colored saree for Faabiiana at Lakme Fashion Week 2023. It was dressed in zardozi and sequin embroidery and hung in a unique way that made it seem like the dress of a newlywed. Her sindoor and wedding chudda completed the ensemble, making her the perfect representation of the traditional Indian bride. Parineeti’s ensemble was captivating on the runway as it radiated elegance and bridal charm. Her graceful Namaste added a touch of elegance, leaving the audience in awe, and for a moment, the world stopped to gaze at the ideal representation of an Indian bride.

Conclusion

With its continued embodiment of India’s rich cultural legacy, the event promotes relatability and immersion. With its lineup of well-known designers and emphasis on sustainable fashion, LFW 2023 was a monument to grace and beauty.

Faabiiana’s “QURBAT” collection, which drew inspiration from roses and love, was a magnificent fusion of vintage romance and modern charm.
